Offical opening of clubrooms by Joe Help MLA Minister of Agriculture
MARYBOROUGH AND DISTRICT HORSE AND PONY CLUB
OPENING OF NEW CLUBROOMS AND STORAGE FACILITES

The Maryborough and District Horse and Pony Club officially opened their new clubrooms on Sunday.
Approximately 100 people attending the official opening and were welcomed by President of the club Cheryle Forster. Cheryle welcomed the large gathering of people who included Joe Helper MLA Minister of Agriculture, Central Goldfields Shire Mayor Chris Meddows-Taylor, Central Goldfields Shire Recreation Officers Martin Mark and Rhiannon Chandler and the President of the Midland Zone John Steven. Present, past and Life members also with members of the Riding for the Disabled were also welcomed.
Project coordinator Christine Linton spoke of the many hours of work put in by members of the club and the community. She thanked Martin Mark for his continued support and advice together with the Central Goldfields Shire for believing the project worthy enough to be recommended for forwarding to Sport & Recreation for consideration. The Sport, Recreation & youth affairs Minister Merlow was also thanked for approving the funding of the project.

During the officially proceeding Cheryl Forster on behalf of the Maryborough & District Horse and Pony Club proudly awarded Christine Linton and Gail Baggendorf with Life memberships. Both Christine and Gail has been a supporter of the club over many years. Christine has held the position of President, Secretary and Treasurer of the club and has been a leader in applying for grants for the club and overseeing the building of the dressage arenas and presently the new clubrooms. Gail has held the Secretary and Vice President position on many occasions. Gail has been District Commissioner of the club for over 6 years. Both Christine and Gail has been representative of the Maryborough Pony Club at Zone level for many years. Both Christine and Gail were humbly honoured in accepting their Life Memberships.
Amongst the guest on the day were five life members included new life members Christine and Gail. Also present were six past District Commissioners, nine past Secretaries and eight past Presidents along with many other past and present members.
The Maryborough & District Horse & Pony Club and the Riding for Disabled are very excited and proud of their new clubrooms and storage sheds. This is an ongoing project with more development planned for the future.
